Axis Bank Limited announced the resignation of Independent Director Manoj Kohli on 1st August 2023. His resignation will be effective from the close of business hours on 11th August 2023.
Manoj Kohli, aged 63, serves as the Country Head of SoftBank India for the SoftBank Group International since 2020. In this role, he supports more than 20 companies under the SoftBank Group and SoftBank Vision Fund, including well-known names like OLA, OYO, Paytm, Lenskart, Grofers, Snapdeal, WeWork, Delhivery, InMobi, Firstcry, Uber, Swiggy, Unacademy, among others, in India. His focus lies in handling government, regulatory, and public policy matters to help these companies realise their full business potential.
From 2015 to 2019, Kohli served as the Executive Chairman of SB Energy, a part of the SoftBank Group. Under his leadership, SB Energy worked on developing more than 5GW of solar, wind, and hybrid projects. Previously, Kohli was at Bharti Airtel as the Managing Director and CEO. He also served as the Chairman of the Telecom Industry Association, COAI.
Manoj Kohli holds degrees in Law, Commerce, and an MBA from Delhi University. Additionally, he has attended the “Executive Business Program” at the Michigan Business School and the “Advanced Management Program” at the Wharton Business School.
