Astra Microwave Products Welcomes Venu R. Kumar & Anuradha Mookerjee As Independent Directors

Venu Raman Kumar and Anuradha Mookerjee have been appointed as Independent Director and Independent Woman Director, respectively, of Astra Microwave Products Limited, effective May 22, 2025.

Venu Raman Kumar is a tech entrepreneur and private equity investor. He founded M*Modal Inc., a healthcare voice recognition company, which he led until its acquisition by One Equity Partners in 2012. He later founded Aeries Technology in 2012, offering technology services and business process management; it went public on NASDAQ in 2023 (AERT). He launched CASHe in 2016, a digital lending platform. In 2015, he joined the board of T-Hub in Hyderabad. In 2017, he was appointed Chairman of Global Entrepreneurship Network India. He received the “Entrepreneur of the Year” award for Maryland, USA, in 2007 and the Maryland International Leadership Award. In 2019, Entrepreneur India named him “Serial Tech Entrepreneur of the Year” for his contributions to the tech ecosystem.

Mookerjee is a civil servant from the 1986 batch of the Indian Revenue Service. She has over three decades of experience in public service; she has worked across various departments, gaining a deep understanding of the country’s administrative and socio-economic systems. She also has a background in social anthropology and focuses on addressing the urban-rural divide in India. As a topper of her IRS batch, she has held various key roles within the government and continues to engage with issues related to equitable growth, rural empowerment, and effective public administration. Mookerjee holds an M.Phil. in defence and strategic studies.
