Aster DM Healthcare Appoints Maniedath Nambiar And Sunil Vasudevan As Independent Directors
The shareholders of Aster DM Healthcare Limited have approved the appointment of Maniedath Madhavan Nambiar and Sunil Theckath Vasudevan as Non-Executive Independent Director with effect from July 31, 2024, until the conclusion of the 19th Annual General Meeting of the company.
The Board has also approved the appointments of Anoop Moopen and Dr. Zeba Azad Moopen as a Non-executive Non – Independent Directors of the company with effect from July 31, 2024.
Reappointment of Alisha Moopen as Deputy Managing Director of the company for a term of five years with effect from August 7, 2024, has also been approved, subject to approval of the Ministry of Corporate Affairs.
Maniedath Madhavan Nambiar has a 36-year record of public service as an officer of the Indian Administrative Service, culminating in his appointment as Secretary to the Government of India at the Ministry of Civil Aviation. As Secretary, Civil Aviation, he led the redevelopment of India’s largest airports at Delhi and Mumbai. In doing so, he directed the design and deployment of some of India’s largest public-private infrastructure projects. He helped in formulating and establishing the national policy standard as Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of the Tamil Nadu State Government’s apex industrial development agency.
He is an Advisor to the Executive Chairman of Tata Sons. He is an Independent Director of the Tamil Nadu Industrial Development Corporation (TIDCO). He has also served as the Director of Rediff, Loyal Textiles Limited, and Kannur International Airport Limited. He taught public policy for several years at the School of International Public Affairs (SIPA), Columbia University. He was also a Fellow at the Judge Business School’s Entrepreneurship Centre at the University of Cambridge. He is a member of the Advisory Board at the School of Systems and Enterprises at the Stevens Institute of Technology, New Jersey. He holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the Faculty of Management Studies, Delhi, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from Loyola College, Madras University.
Sunil Theckath Vasudevan is a Co-Founder and Partner at Amicus Capital. He has over 33 years of work experience, of which 30 years have been in private equity. Prior to Amicus Capital, he was a co-founding General Partner at True North. He made several successful investments like Biocon, Trinethra Supermarkets, etc. He served on the Board of Directors of several companies, including Trinethra Super Retail Private Ltd., Robo Silicon Pvt. Ltd., Music Broadcast Ltd. (Radio City), and RDC Concrete (India) Pvt. Ltd. He was part of the investment team at ICICI Venture Funds Management Company Ltd. Earlier, he worked as an engineer at Larsen & Toubro Ltd. He is a graduate in mechanical engineering from the University of Kerala and a postgraduate in management from the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore.
