Ashutosh Choudhury joins Indian Bank as its ED
Effective May 3, Ashutosh Choudhury assumed the role of Executive Director (ED) at Indian Bank. The announcement was made by the bank in a regulatory filing to the stock exchanges. With over twenty years of experience in the banking sector, He holds an MBA degree and is also certified as an Associate of the Indian Institute of Bankers and Finance.
Before joining Indian Bank, Choudhury served as the Chief General Manager and Group CRO of Punjab National Bank (PNB). In addition, he has successfully finished the Executive Leadership Development Program offered by IIM Bangalore. Choudhury has worked in various offices of four public sector banks including PNB, Oriental Bank of Commerce, United Bank of India, and Allahabad Bank.
Choudhury has diverse work experience in various areas of banking, including Enterprise Risk Management, Strategic Planning, MSME & Retail Credit, Profit Centric Operations, Fintech & Digital Banking, Treasury, Corporate Credit, Micro Finance & Financial Inclusion, and Balance Sheet Management. He has also served as Director on the Board of PNB Gilts, a subsidiary of PNB that functions as a Primary Dealer (PD) in the Indian capital and debt market.
Choudhury has been appointed as ED for a term of three years, starting from the date of his joining, or until further notice.
