Appa Rao V. V. Chief Delivery Officer At HLC Tech Has Stepped Down

HCL Technologies’ Chief Delivery Officer for Nearshore and New Vistas Locations, Appa Rao VV, has tendered his resignation, the company announced in a stock exchange filing. Before assuming the role of Chief Delivery Officer in October 2022, Rao served as the company’s Chief Human Resources Officer. His transition to the new position saw Ramachandran Sundararajan stepping in as the Chief HR Officer.

The senior leadership landscape in India’s leading IT services firms has witnessed significant changes. Earlier this year, HCL Technologies saw the departure of Sukamal Banerjee, the Corporate Vice President of Global Engineering Business, who moved on to become the Chief Executive at Xoriant, a Silicon Valley-based digital engineering company. Anand Birje, who headed the digital business services, also resigned around the same time to assume the role of CEO at the digital engineering company Encora.

Similar trends of top-level exits and CEO appointments have been observed in competitors such as Infosys, Wipro, Tech Mahindra, and Cognizant, triggering a competitive search for senior talent across these organisations.

While HCL Technologies has communicated its decision to forgo increments for senior management in the current fiscal year, recent announcements reveal that salary hikes have been rolled out for other employees.
