Ann Godbehere To Step Down from HSBC Board As Senior Independent Director

Ann Godbehere will step down as Senior Independent Director of HSBC Bank, citing personal and lifestyle reasons, at the 2026 annual general meeting (AGM) after completing the search for a new Chair.

Godbehere joined Swiss Re in 1996 and served as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) from 2003 to 2007. She later acted as Interim CFO of Northern Rock Bank from 2008 to 2009 following its nationalisation. She has held several Board roles with FTSE 100 companies, including Prudential plc., British American Tobacco plc, UBS AG, UBS Group AG, and Rio Tinto plc and Limited, where she served as Senior Independent Director. She is currently a Non-Executive Director and Audit Committee Chair at Stellantis N.V. and Shell plc. She has over 30 years of experience in financial services across insurance, retail & private banking, and wealth management, with an international career spanning multiple markets. Godbehere is a Fellow of the Canadian accounting bodies.
