
Anita Ramachandran Honoured As Board Laureate At Board Stewardship Global Summit 2025
Anita Ramachandran, renowned human resource expert and Independent Director on multiple prominent Boards, was honoured with the distinguished Board Laureate award at the Board Stewardship Global Corporate Governance Summit 2025 held at the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE). This accolade recognises her exemplary contributions to Corporate Governance, leadership in HR transformation, and pioneering role as one of India’s first women entrepreneurs in the HR consulting space.
Ramachandran’s career spans nearly four decades of deep expertise across management consulting, organisation transformation, and human capital advisory. She began her professional journey in 1976 with AF Ferguson & Co. (now part of KPMG), where she was the firm’s first woman consultant. During her 19 years at the firm, she gained extensive experience in finance, industrial market research, strategy, and human resource consulting, culminating in her role as a Director.
In 1995, Ramachandran founded Solvexus (formerly Cerebrus Consultants), an HR advisory firm focused on organisation transformation and reward management. Under her leadership, Solvexus grew into a nationally recognised organisation known for innovative compensation and reward systems. She is widely regarded as an authority in reward management in India and has led numerous large-scale transformation projects across sectors. In recent years, she has also worked closely with private equity firms and start-ups, mentoring them through critical growth phases.
Ramachandran currently serves as an Independent Director on the Boards of FSN E-Commerce Ventures Limited, Happiest Minds Technologies Limited, Grasim Industries Limited, Blue Star Limited, Ultratech Cement Limited, and Aragen Life Sciences Limited. Additionally, she is a Director on the Boards of Godrej and Boyce Manufacturing Company Limited, Solvexus Private Limited, and Nykaa Foundation.
Her governance approach combines deep strategic insight with a strong focus on organisational culture and people management, making her a respected voice in boardrooms across India.
Ramachandran holds a bachelor’s degree in commerce and a master’s degree in management studies from Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies. Her career and governance contributions continue to inspire new generations of leaders, particularly women in corporate leadership and entrepreneurship.
