Anish Kumar Saraf Joins Kalyan Jewellers’ Board; Vinod Rai Reappointed As Chairman

Anish Kumar Saraf has been appointed as an Additional Non-Executive Director of Kalyan Jewellers India Limited, commencing from January 31, 2025.

Vinod Rai has been reappointed as Chairman and Non-Executive Independent Director of the company, effective July 01, 2025.

Anil S. Nair has been reappointed as Non-Executive Independent Director of the company, effective May 29, 2025.

Salil Nair has been reappointed as Non-Executive Director of the company, effective May 29, 2025.

Anish Kumar Saraf is a qualified Chartered Accountant and holds a postgraduate diploma in management from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad. He has been associated with Warburg Pincus India Private Limited since 2006, where he currently holds the position of Managing Director.

Vinod Rai is the former Comptroller and Auditor General of India and a former Chair of the United Nations Panel of External Auditors. He has held various positions within the Indian government as well as in the state government of Kerala. Rai has been instrumental in many reforms in India, including in overhauling the administrative structure of Indian railways, which includes introducing accrual accounting. He was also Chairman of the Banks Board Bureau, a body set up by the Indian government to reform public banking in India. He has served as a Director on the Boards of a range of financial institutions, including ICICI Bank, the State Bank of India, and the Life Insurance Corporation of India, and is a distinguished visiting research fellow at the Institute of South Asian Studies, National University of Singapore.

Anil Nair is the former CEO and Managing Partner at L&K Saatchi & Saatchi, an advertising and communications agency in India. He was a member of the Global Leadership Board of Saatchi & Saatchi Worldwide, the first Indian to receive this invitation. With over 25 years in advertising, he has worked at McCann and DDB and co-founded Law & Kenneth, which later merged with Saatchi & Saatchi. His expertise includes building local brands and working with multinational brands such as Coca-Cola, HSBC, Hero Motocorp, and ITC. Ranked 15th most influential in the Indian advertising industry by the Economic Times, Anil is now an entrepreneur, investor, and founder of Goodwind Mototours, a premium motorcycle touring company with a charity focus.

Salil Nair has over 33 years of experience in the consumer and retail industry. He holds a master’s degree in physics and began his career in 1987, working with Glaxo India and Carona Limited before joining Shoppers Stop Ltd. At Shoppers Stop, he handled store operations, buying and merchandising, store design, marketing, projects, and HR, eventually becoming CEO. After 24 years, he left in 2017 to focus on mentoring and coaching in the retail sector. He has served on the Boards of Nuance Group India Pvt. Ltd. and Gateway Multichannel Retail and has been an advisor to Crossword Bookshps.
