Andreas Schierenbeck will replace Claudio Facchin as CEO of Hitachi Energy

Hitachi Energy has announced the appointment of Andreas Schierenbeck as the Chief Executive Officer, with effect from July 1, 2024. He replaced Claudio Facchin, the current CEO, who will be stepping down at the end of June 2024. Andreas will collaborate with the Hitachi Energy Board, Executive Team, and Claudio to ensure a seamless transition before officially assuming the role on July 1, 2024.

Andreas Schierenbeck joins Hitachi Energy from HH2E, where he serves as a co-founder and Board member. Previously, Schierenbeck served as CEO of Uniper from 2019 to 2021. Prior to that, he led the transformation of Thyssenkrupp Elevator into a global digital technology leader from 2013 to 2018. With extensive experience at Siemens from 1992 to 2012, including roles such as President and CEO of Siemens Building Technologies in the US and Senior Vice President in the electric utility sector in Switzerland, Andreas brings a wealth of expertise. He holds a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from TU Dresden and an Advanced Management Certificate from Harvard University.
