Amarjeet Singh appointed Whole-Time Member of SEBI

In a significant development, the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has announced the appointment of Amarjeet Singh as a Whole-Time Member for three years.

Amarjeet Singh has been serving as an Executive Director at SEBI since 2017. As a Whole-Time Member Singh will be an integral part of SEBI’s decision-making processes, contributing to policy formulation, regulatory reforms, and enforcement strategies.

He holds an MBA in Finance with Honours from Lucknow University and a Master’s degree in Economic Policy from Columbia University, New York.

SEBI had recently announced the appointment of Kamlesh Varshney While Varshney, a 1990-batch officer of the Indian Revenue Service as another Whole-Time Member of SEBI. The new members will fill in the vacancies created by the retirement of Ananta Barua and SK Mohanty.
