Alstom Appoints Rob Whyte As Managing Director For UK & Ireland

Alstom has appointed Rob Whyte as the new Managing Director (MD) for the UK and Ireland to drive the company’s growth and innovation in sustainable mobility.

Rob joined Alstom over 30 years ago and previously served as the MD for the Nordics. In his new role, he aims to build on Alstom’s legacy of delivering low-carbon, efficient transport solutions across the UK and Ireland. Rob’s career with Alstom spans various leadership roles, including overseeing major projects like Nottingham Express Transit and Crossrail.

Alongside Rob, Andy Butters has been named Managing Director for Rolling Stock and Components in the UK and Ireland, focusing on train manufacturing at the company’s Derby facility. The Litchurch Lane Works in Derby is a key site for Alstom, known for designing, engineering, constructing, and testing trains for both domestic and international markets.
