Akani Devi Concludes Her Tenure As Woman Independent Director Of The New India Assurance Company

Akani Devi has retired as a Woman Independent Director (Part-Time Non-Official Director) of The New India Assurance Company Limited upon completion of her tenure, effective March 23, 2026.

Devi is the Principal of Assam Sikha Academy, an institution she established to support students from low-income and minority communities. The school focuses on access to education and academic development. She has 10 years of teaching experience and has been involved in academic and institutional work. In addition to her role in education, she is an A-grade announcer with All India Radio. She holds three Master of Arts degrees in Political Science from Guwahati University and has also completed an M.Phil in Political Science. Her academic background and work reflect her engagement in education and communication.
