Ajoy Mehta & Tikka Singh To Join Raymond Board As Independent Directors
Ajoy Mehta and Tikka Singh have been appointed as Non-Executive Independent Directors (Additional Directors) of Raymond Limited, effective January 1, 2026.
Mehta is a retired Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer from the 1984 batch of the Maharashtra cadre. He has served as Chief Secretary of Maharashtra from May 10, 2019, to February 11, 2021. After this tenure, he was appointed Chairman of the Maharashtra Real Estate Regulatory Authority, a position he held from February 12, 2021, to September 20, 2024. Earlier, he served as Municipal Commissioner of Mumbai, where he worked on provisions for affordable housing in the draft development plan and addressed sanitation-related issues in the city. Mehta joined the IAS after completing his engineering degree from IIT BHU. His career includes roles across state administration, urban governance, and regulatory oversight in Maharashtra.
Singh began his career in finance, working for a decade in the banking sector with roles in New York, Hong Kong, London, and Zurich. In 1995, he joined Moët Hennessy-Louis Vuitton (LVMH) as Chief Representative in Asia and was later appointed Advisor to the Chairman of Louis Vuitton. He has played a role in building Louis Vuitton’s presence in India and supported the introduction of Dom Pérignon champagne and Hennessy Cognac in the country. He has also advised several LVMH brands, including Christian Dior, Fendi, Berluti, Celine, Givenchy, and Guerlain, on their entry into the Indian market. Singh leads initiatives to preserve Kapurthala’s heritage and heads the Nawab Jassa Singh Ahluwalia Trust. He has received the French honour, Knight of the Legion of Honour.
