Air India Faces 100 DGCA Audit Observations, Including Seven Major Violations
India’s aviation regulator, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), has flagged approximately 100 operational lapses at Air India following an audit conducted from July 1, 2025, to July 4, 2025, at the airline’s Gurugram hub. Seven violations were marked as Level-1, requiring immediate action due to safety implications.
The audit reviewed areas such as crew training, rest and duty compliance, airfield qualifications, and flight scheduling. In a statement, Air India acknowledged the audit and confirmed its commitment to corrective action within the given timeframe. The findings come after increased scrutiny post the June 12 crash of flight AI171. Separately, the DGCA issued show-cause notices and directed the removal of three officials from crew scheduling duties, citing earlier voluntary disclosures by the airline regarding procedural lapses.
