Adobe CEO Shantanu Narayen To Step Down After Successor Is Appointed

Adobe announced that Shantanu Narayen will step down as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) after the company appoints a successor. He will remain chair of the company.

Narayen joined the company in 1998 and became President and Chief Operating Officer (COO) in 2005, CEO in 2007, and Chair in 2017. Under his leadership, Adobe moved from licensed software to a cloud-based subscription model and expanded its digital documents and digital experience businesses. Before joining Adobe, he worked at Apple and Silicon Graphics and co-founded the startup Pictra. He serves as Vice Chairman of the US-India Strategic Partnership Forum and sits on the Board of Pfizer. Narayen holds a bachelor’s degree from Osmania University, a master’s degree from Bowling Green State University, and an MBA from UC Berkeley Haas School of Business.
