Aditya Birla AMC appoints Supratim Bandyopadhyay as Independent Director

Supratim Bandyopadhyay has been appointed as an Additional Director (Non-Executive Independent) at Aditya Birla Sun Life Asset Management Company (AMC) for a term of five years, effective from June 1, 2023. Previously, Bandyopadhyay served as the Chairman of the Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA) for three years, from January 2020 to January 2023. He also held the position of Whole Time Member (Finance) at PFRDA for two years. Bandyopadhyay brings extensive experience in insurance, finance, investments, and debt operations. Prior to his role at PFRDA, he served for over three decades at the Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC), the country’s largest life insurance company. During his tenure at LIC, Bandyopadhyay held various significant positions, including Chief (Investment) and Executive Director (Investment), where he oversaw two large divisions. He also served as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer at LIC Pension Fund, responsible for managing the fund’s operations. Bandyopadhyay is an Associate Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.
