Adil Zainulbhai and Ashok Sinha Retired As Independent Directors of Cipla; Zainulbhai To Continue As Non-Executive Director
Adil Zainulbhai and Ashok Sinha are completing their second term as Independent Directors of Cipla Limited on September 2, 2024. They will retire from the Board of the company w.e.f. September 3, 2024.
The Board of Directors will consider the appointment of Adil Zainulbhai as an Additional (Non-Executive) Director of the company on September 3, 2024.
Adil Zainulbhai is the former Chairman of the Boards of Network18, TV18, and Chairman of the Quality Council of India, where he worked on several projects for the government around many of its flagship schemes. Previously, he was the Chairman of McKinsey India, where, during his 34-year stint, he led its Washington office and founded the Minneapolis office. He is very active in community and social causes. He holds a Mechanical Engineering degree from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) and a Masters’ in Business Management (MBA) from Harvard Business School.
Ashok Sinha has been honoured with the Distinguished Alumnus Award from both IIT Kanpur and IIM Bangalore. He also received the India Chief Financial Officer Award 2001 for Information and Knowledge Management from the Economic Intelligence Unit (EIU) India and American Express. He was recognised by the Technology Media Group (TMG). Sinha’s leadership journey includes serving as the Chairman and MD of Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (BPCL). During his 33-year tenure at BPCL, he spent 15 years on the company’s Board, initially as Director (Finance) for 10 years starting in 1996 and then as Chairman and MD from August 2005 for 5 years. He holds a BTech in Electrical Engineering from IIT Kanpur and a Post Graduate Diploma in Management with a specialisation in Finance from IIM Bangalore.
