Adani Power Appoints Sangeeta Singh as Independent Director

On May 1, 2024, the Board of Directors of Adani Power Limited appointed Sangeeta Singh as an Additional Director (Non-Executive, Independent) for three years up to April 30, 2027. Subject to the approval of the shareholders of the company.

The Board has also approved the appointment of Sanjay Argade as “Head of Human Resources” of the company, designated as Senior Management Personnel (SMP), with effect from May 1, 2024.

Sangeeta Singh has worked in various capacities as a Member of the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) and Principal Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, amongst others. As a member of CBDT, she has led the administration and implementation of the Income Tax Act and Rules, both for the department and taxpayers, and was in charge of national-level revenue collection by the department. She holds the degrees of M.Sc. (Public Economics) from the University of Birmingham (UK), M.Phil. (International Relations) from Jawaharlal Nehru University (New Delhi), and M.A. (Political Science) from Jawaharlal Nehru University (New Delhi).

Sanjay Argade has over 28 years of experience in human resources. Prior to joining Adani Group in 2008, he worked for 12 years with JK Paper at its integrated paper and paperboard plant near Surat, Gujarat. He has contributed to the implementation of group and business HR initiatives. He has also been a SPOC on industrial relations for all thermal generation businesses. He obtained the degrees of post-graduation in social work (1987) and LL.B. (1991) from the Maharaja Sayajirao University, Baroda. He has also undergone the in-campus “Takshshila ” Leadership Programme of Adani Group at the Indian School of Business, Hyderabad.
