Accenture Report: 45% of G2000 Companies Off-Track for Net Zero
Accenture’s “Destination Net Zero” report highlights that 45% of G2000 companies are not on track to meet net-zero targets, despite notable progress in emission reductions.
Since 2016, 52% of companies have successfully reduced their emissions and emission intensity. However, Accenture warns that these efforts need to accelerate significantly to meet the 2050 goals. European companies lead the charge, with 21% on track for net zero, while North America trails behind at 17%.
Encouragingly, over 80% of companies are adopting key decarbonisation measures such as energy efficiency, waste reduction, and renewable energy. Accenture calls for companies to commit to science-based targets and implement detailed transition plans to enhance their decarbonisation efforts.
