Abel Martins-Alexandre Steps Down Temporarily As CFO Of Eramet

Eramet said on Friday that Abel Martins-Alexandre has stepped down from his role temporarily as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) while an investigation into management methods is carried out.

A spokesperson said management arrangements have been put in place within the finance function during this period. The move follows the removal of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Paulo Castellari earlier this week.

Before Eramet, Martins-Alexandre served as Managing Director and Head of Infrastructure, Energy, and Industrials at Lloyds Corporate and Institutional Bank. Earlier, he spent 15 years at Rio Tinto in strategy, commercial, business development, and finance roles, later becoming Group Treasurer with responsibility for treasury operations, corporate finance, capital planning, project finance, pensions, and insurance. He also led initiatives related to cost efficiency, working capital, and finance processes, as well as mergers and project finance. He has worked across regions including Latin America, Southern Africa, South-East Asia, and Europe. He is a graduate of London Business School, Université Paris Dauphine, and Toulouse Business School.
