Aarti Industries Appoints Nikhil Bhatia, Rupa Singh & Ashok Barat as Independent Directors
Aarti Industries Limited has announced the appointments of Nikhil Jaysinh Bhatia, Rupa Devi Singh, and Ashok Kumar Barat as Independent Directors for five years, with effect from September 15, 2024. Subject to the approval of the shareholders.
Nikhil Bhatia is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) and has more than 40 years of experience. Bhatia was associated with CNK (Contractor, Nayak & Kishnadwala) & Associates LLP for 2 years, KPMG for 13 years, and PwC for 10 years. At KPMG, he worked for two years in the UK, where he ran the India Desk and was part of the Global Tax Solutions Group. He was also a member of KPMG’s Strategy Council for the International Assignee Services Network. At PwC, he was elected by the partner group as a member of the PwC India Governance Board.
Rupa Devi Singh, 68, is a banking, finance, and infrastructure advisory professional with a career spanning over four decades. Singh was the founder, Managing Director (MD), and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Power Exchange India Limited (PXIL). Prior to Power Exchange India Limited (PXIL), she worked in senior positions with Credit Rating Information Services of India Limited (CRISIL) Infrastructure Advisory, State Bank of India (SBI) Capital Markets, and State Bank of India. She has long-standing experience managing and working on Boards. She graduated in science (BSc) and law (LLB) from the University of Delhi. She is a Certified Associate from the Indian Institute of Bankers.
Ashok Kumar Barat, 68, holds experience working with various companies like Hindustan Unilever, Exide, RPG Group, Saud Bahwan Group, Pepsi, Electrolux, and Heinz. He concluded his executive career as the Managing Director (MD) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Forbes & Company Limited. He has held executive leadership positions in various Indian and multinational organisations, both in India and overseas. His professional experiences encompass functional, operational, and governance roles. His major functional influence and impact areas are finance, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), strategy, audit, management assurance, and governance. He worked in diverse roles, including operational, staff, and stewardship, in different industries like FMCG, manufacturing services, and technology. He has effectively led complex commercial mergers and acquisitions (M&A), alliances, dispute negotiations, and business transformation projects. He is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) and the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI), and he is also an associate member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England & Wales and Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Australia.
