Aarti Industries Appoints New Independent Directors

The shareholders of Aarti Industries Limited have approved the appointment of Belur Krishna Murthy Sethuram as an Independent Director of the company for a period of five years, with effect from June 1, 2024.

Appointment of Nikhil Jaysinh Bhatia, Rupa Devi Singh, and Ashok Kumar Barat as Independent Directors of the Company for a period of five years with effect from September 15, 2024.

The shareholders also approved the appointment of Suyog Kalyanji Kotecha as Executive Director for a period of five years, with effect from June 17, 2024.

Lastly, the reappointment of Lalitkumar Shantaram Naik as an Independent Director is approved for a period of five years, with effect from May 21, 2024.

Belur Krishna Murthy Sethuram has approximately 38 years of vast experience, has coached a large number of future leaders, and is a Certified CEO Coach from the Coaching Foundation of India. Most recently, he was associated with Celanese as MD for India, SEA, and Japan and Commercial Director for Engineered Materials and Acetyls. He has a B.Tech (Chemical) from IIT Madras, an MS (Chemical) from the USA, and an MBA from Bangkok.

Nikhil Bhatia is a Chartered Accountant and has more than four decades of experience. He was associated with CNK & Associates LLP for 2 years, KPMG for 13 years, and PwC for 10 years. He was also a member of KPMG’s Strategy Council for the International Assignee Services Network. At PwC, he was elected as a member of the PwC India Governance Board.

Rupa Devi Singh, aged about 68, was the founder, MD, and CEO of Power Exchange India Limited (PXIL). Prior to PXIL, she worked in senior positions with CRISIL Infrastructure Advisory, SBI Capital Markets, and the State Bank of India. She is a Certified Associate from the Indian Institute of Bankers.

Ashok Kumar Barat, aged about 68, is a fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) and the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI). He worked with companies like Hindustan Unilever, Exide, RPG Group, Saud Bahwan Group, Pepsi, Electrolux, and Heinz. He concluded his executive career as the Managing Director and CEO of Forbes & Company Limited.

Suyog Kalyanji Kotecha led strategy and new business initiatives for the petrochemicals business at Reliance Industries. Before that, he served as a partner at McKinsey & Company, leading the Chemicals Practice and advising companies on performance transformation and strategic growth. He has a B.Tech (Chemical) from UDCT, an MS (Chemical) from the Netherlands, and an MBA from ISB.
