Bajaj Electricals Appoints Sudarshan Sampathkumar As Chairman

Bajaj Electricals Limited has appointed Sudarshan Sampathkumar as Non-Executive Independent Chairman of the Board, effective January 1, 2027.

Shekhar Bajaj will step down as Executive Chairman on December 31, 2026, after over four decades of leadership. He will continue as a Non-Executive Non-Independent Director and assume the title of Chairman Emeritus for five years from January 1, 2027, subject to requisite approvals.

The Board approved the changes on October 28, 2026, as part of its succession planning and governance transition.

Sanjay Sachdeva will continue as Managing Director and CEO, with a proposed fresh five-year term from April 1, 2027, to March 31, 2032, subject to requisite approvals. He joined Bajaj Electricals in April 2025 after over three decades at Unilever, where his last role was MD and CEO of Unilever Japan.

The Bajaj family will retain its association with the company. Shekhar Bajaj and Nirav Bajaj will remain on the Board, while Pooja Bajaj will transition to a non-retiring Executive Director from January 1, 2027, subject to shareholder approval.
