IndusInd General Insurance Appoints Sharad Mathur As Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer

IndusInd General Insurance Limited appoints Sharad Mathur as its Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer.

Mathur brings three decades of experience in insurance and financial services, with a background spanning organisational transformation, distribution expansion, technology-led innovation, growth and governance. Before joining IndusInd General Insurance, Mathur served as managing director and CEO of Universal Sompo General Insurance for more than six years. During his tenure, he worked on expanding distribution, strengthening risk management and underwriting discipline, and improving technology-led customer servicing.

He holds a postgraduate qualification in Management from the Indian Institute of Planning and Management and a bachelor’s degree in Economics and Industrial Relations from Delhi College of Arts and Commerce, University of Delhi. He has also completed executive programmes in leadership, change management, Corporate Governance and M&A strategy at ISB, Harvard Business School, the Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs and the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
