GIC India Appoints Prerana Puthran As Chief Risk Officer
General Insurance Corporation of India appoints Prerana Puthran, Deputy General Manager as Chief Risk Officer, categorised as Key Managerial Person in place of Jayashri Balkrishna, Executive Director with effect from October 9, 2026.
Puthran joined General Insurance Company (GIC) in the year 1992 and has been associated across various profiles during her tenure within GIC. She has handled various departments such as Underwriting, Enterprise Risk Management, Claims Vertical, Corporate Communications, Investor Relations and Credit Rating during her tenure in the Corporation. Presently, she is holding the post of Deputy General Manager and heading the Enterprise Risk Management Department, CSR and Investment Mid Back and has acquired relevant experience in the risk management framework of the Corporation. She has been actively involved in various risk governance initiatives, risk assessment exercises, monitoring mechanisms and reporting requirements of the corporation.
She is a commerce graduate and a Fellow of the Insurance Institute of India (FIII).
