Zee Entertainment Enterprises Extends Tenure Of Four Independent Directors
Deepu Bansal has been reappointed as an Independent Director of Zee Entertainment Enterprises Limited for the second term of five (5) years, effective October 13, 2026, subject to shareholders’ approval.
In addition, Uttam Prakash Agarwal, Dr. Venkata Ramana Murthy Pinisetti, and Shishir Babubhai Desai have been reappointed as Independent Directors of the Company, effective December 17, 2026, subject to shareholders’ approval.
Deepu Bansal is a Senior Partner at NDB & Associates LLP, where she leads assurance engagements across financial services, including non-banking financial companies, asset management, insurance, capital markets and market infrastructure institutions. She has also served as Chief Internal Auditor for large corporates, focusing on governance, accountability and risk management. She has also served on committees constituted by regulators, contributing her expertise to audit, compliance, governance and financial services-related matters. She has experience in management consulting, process strengthening and internal control transformation.
Uttam Prakash Agarwal served as President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) in 2009-10 and has held honorary memberships of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Australia and CPA Australia. He has served on the Boards of Reliance Mutual Fund and Bhagalpur Smart City, and was a part-time member of the IRDAI Board. He has contributed to committees of SEBI, MCA, RBI, IRDAI and CAG. He is currently Non-Executive Chairman of Mirae Asset Trustee Company and 3i Infotech. He has also contributed to IFAC committees and authored books. He is a Chartered Accountant with three decades of experience across taxation, finance, banking, investments, insurance, mutual funds, audit and corporate governance.
Dr. Venkata Ramana Murthy Pinisetti is Resident Director – India and an Adjunct Professor at Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business. He has over 35 years of corporate experience across strategy, human resources, organisational development, financial leadership and employment laws. Until 2021, he served as Executive Vice President and Global Chief Human Resources Officer at The Indian Hotels Company Ltd., part of the Tata Group. Earlier, he spent 15 years with The Coca-Cola Company, including as Executive Director – Human Resources at Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages. Dr. Murthy holds a Ph.D. in strategic human resource management and a master’s degree in organisational psychology and change from INSEAD. He is also a qualified lawyer, executive coach, author and advisor to CEOs and Boards.
Shishir B. Desai is a Solicitor with 46 years of experience and is enrolled with the Bombay Incorporated Law Society. He is also a non-practising Solicitor of the Supreme Court of England & Wales and a member of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India. As a founding partner of Desai Billimoria & Associates, he advises on corporate and commercial law, financial instruments and restructuring, foreign collaborations, foreign exchange regulations, private equity, joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions. Desai graduated from Sydenham College of Commerce & Economics, Mumbai, and holds a law degree from Government Law College, Mumbai. He cleared the Solicitor’s Examination with the highest marks in all subjects.
