MCA Launches Corporate Mitra Scheme To Support MSME Compliance Needs

The Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) has launched the Corporate Mitra Scheme to create a network of trained professionals who can help small businesses manage compliance, taxation, accounting and governance requirements.

Under the initiative announced in the Union Budget 2026-27, the government plans to develop 2,000 Corporate Mitras across India in the first phase. These para-professionals will support MSMEs with regulatory filings, GST, bookkeeping, financial management, cost accounting and corporate secretarial work. The scheme aims to address compliance challenges faced by small enterprises, especially those that cannot afford regular support from Chartered Accountants (CAs) or Company Secretaries (CSs). Graduates and final-year students will undergo around 150 hours of online training followed by six months of practical experience.

Institutions including ICAI, ICSI, ICMAI, IIT Madras and IIT Pravartak are involved in implementing the programme. The initiative also focuses on creating employment opportunities while improving access to business support services for MSMEs.
