Palamadai Sundararajan Jayakumar Retires As Independent Director Of Emcure Pharmaceuticals

Palamadai Sundararajan Jayakumar has retired as an Independent Director of Emcure Pharmaceuticals Limited upon completion of his tenure, effective July 21, 2026.

Jayakumar is the Non-Executive Chairman and Independent Director of ICRA Ltd., with extensive experience across banking, financial services, and Corporate Governance. He began his career with Citibank in 1986 and served as Co-Head of Citibank India before moving on in 2008. He later served as Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director (CEO & MD) of Bank of Baroda from 2015 to 2019, where he led the integration of Dena Bank and Vijaya Bank. He has co-promoted VBHC Value Homes and Home First India and serves on Boards across sectors including manufacturing, financial services, pharmaceuticals, media and logistics. He also mentors startups and is associated with the Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs. Jayakumar is a Chartered Accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, holds an MBA from XLRI Jamshedpur, and was a Gurukul Chevening Scholar at the London School of Economics and Political Science.
