Manimekhalai A. Joins Muthoot Capital Services As Independent Director; Shirley Thomas Reappointed

Manimekhalai A. has been appointed as a Non-Executive Independent Director of Muthoot Capital Services Limited, with effect from July 16, 2026, subject to the approval of the shareholders.

In addition, Shirley Thomas has been reappointed as a Non-Executive Independent Director of the company for a second consecutive term of five (5) years with effect from November 25, 2026, subject to the approval of the shareholders.

Manimekhalai A. was the first woman Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director (CEO & MD) of Union Bank of India, a position she held until her retirement in 2026. She began her career with the erstwhile Vijaya Bank in 1988 and held various leadership positions before serving as Executive Director of Canara Bank. She is a banking professional with over three decades of experience in India’s public sector banking industry. Her professional experience includes strategic planning, digital transformation, business growth, financial inclusion, and management of banking operations. She holds an MBA in Marketing from Bangalore University and is a Certified Associate of the Indian Institute of Bankers (CAIIB).

Shirley Thomas is the former General Manager (GM) of SBI Chennai Circle, Deputy GM in Enterprise Risk and Group Risk Management, and Senior Vice President (SVP) for Sales and Distribution. She began her career as a Probationary Officer with SBI in 1984 and held various leadership roles during her tenure. She also served as a Nominee Director of ITCOT Ltd. and currently holds directorships in companies including Bamni Proteins Ltd., Nitta Gelatin India Ltd., and BWDA Finance Ltd. Her areas of expertise include finance, banking, management, sales, and administration. She is a banking professional with extensive experience across branch banking, corporate banking, risk management, and strategic operations at the State Bank of India (SBI).
