Michael Nelson Gibbs Retires As Independent Director Of Infosys
Infosys has announced the retirement of Michael Nelson Gibbs as an Independent Director after completing his second consecutive term on the company’s Board, effective July 12, 2026.
During his tenure, Gibbs served as Chairperson of the Stakeholders Relationship Committee and Cybersecurity Risk Sub-Committee. He was also a member of the Audit Committee, Risk Management Committee, Nomination and Remuneration Committee, and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Committee.
Gibbs is a technology leader with experience in information technology strategy, digital transformation, and cybersecurity. He served as Group Chief Information Officer (GCIO) at BP Plc, where he led IT strategy, technology operations, and digital initiatives across global operations. During his tenure, he worked on reorganising IT functions, improving cybersecurity frameworks, and adopting emerging technologies, including cloud migration initiatives. Earlier, he held CIO roles at ConocoPhillips and Conoco Refining & Marketing across Europe, Asia, and the US. Gibbs has also served on various boards and is Vice-Chair of A Child’s Hope – Haiti. He graduated summa cum laude in Management Science from Oklahoma State University and completed executive programmes at Penn State University and the Concours/Cash CIO Leadership Program.
