Asian Paints Appoints Sudhir Sitapati As Independent Director, Reappoints Milind Sarwate

Asian Paints Limited shareholders have approved the appointment of Sudhir Sitapati as an Independent Director (Additional Director) and the reappointment of Milind Sarwate as an Independent Director for a second term of five years. The approvals were granted at the company’s 80th Annual General Meeting held on July 9, 2026.

Sitapati’s five-year term commenced on May 29, 2026, and will continue until May 28, 2031. Sarwate’s second term will begin on October 21, 2026, and conclude on October 20, 2031.

Sudhir Sitapati is the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director (CEO & MD) of Godrej Consumer Products, a position he has held since 2021. He is responsible for the company’s strategy and operations across its markets. He also serves as Chair of the Confederation of Indian Industry’s FMCG Committee and has previously co-chaired the CII National Committee on Food Processing. Before joining Godrej Consumer Products, Sitapati spent over 20 years with Unilever, holding leadership roles across India, Europe, Southeast Asia and Africa. His last position was Executive Director – Foods and Refreshments at Hindustan Unilever. Sitapati is also the author of The CEO Factory and is associated with the performing arts initiative Us Paar.

Milind Sarwate is the Founder and Designated Partner of Increate Value Advisors LLP and Increate Social Value Advisors & Resourcers LLP, and Promoter Director of Increate Foundation. Earlier, he held leadership positions at Godrej Soaps and Marico. He serves as an Independent Director on the Boards of CEAT, Mahindra & Mahindra Financial Services, OmniActive Health Technologies, and Viyash Scientific. Sarwate has received the ICAI CFO Award (2011), CNBC-TV18 Best Performing CFO Award (2012), and was inducted into the CFO India Hall of Fame in 2013. He is a finance and Corporate Governance professional with over four decades of experience in finance, audit, risk management, strategy and board oversight.
