Noel Naval Tata To Step Down As Voltas Chairman Ahead Of Board Retirement
Noel Naval Tata has announced that he will step down as Chairman of Voltas, marking another leadership transition within the Tata Group ahead of his retirement from multiple group Boards later this year.
Tata recently stepped down as Chairman of Trent and is also expected to retire from the Boards of Titan Company, Tata Investment Corporation, Tata Steel, and Tata International. He said it would be his final AGM as Chairman. He has led Voltas since 2017 and will turn 70 in November, in line with the Tata Group’s governance policy requiring Non-Executive Directors to retire at that age.
Tata is a business leader with more than four decades of experience within the Tata Group. He currently serves as Chairman of Tata Trusts and chairs all constituent trusts under the organisation. He also holds leadership positions across several Tata companies, including Chairman of Tata International Ltd. and Tata Investment Corporation Ltd., while serving as Vice Chairman of Tata Steel and Titan Company Ltd. His last executive role was as Managing Director (MD) of Tata International from 2010 to 2021, during which he oversaw significant growth in the company’s business. Earlier, he served as MD of Trent for over 11 years, leading its expansion across multiple retail formats. Tata is a graduate of the University of Sussex and has completed the International Executive Programme at INSEAD.
