
Deepa Kotnis Appointed As CFO Of IRFC, Dr. Ranjay Choudhary As Director (Finance)
Indian Railway Finance Corporation (IRFC) has appointed Executive Director Deepa Kotnis as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Dr. Ranjay Choudhary as Director (Finance), following approvals at the Board of Directors meeting, effective June 30, 2026.
Deepa Kotnis is a 1998-batch Indian Railway Accounts Service (IRAS) officer with over 27 years of experience in public finance, infrastructure funding, financial management, procurement, and public policy. She is currently the CFO of IRFC and previously served as Executive Director (Finance) at the company. Her earlier assignments include Financial Advisor and Chief Accounts Officer (Construction) at South Western Railway and leadership roles at the Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA) and Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited. She holds a master’s degree in economics and has completed executive programmes in financial management, infrastructure development, and project management.
Before joining IRFC as Director (Finance), Dr. Ranjay Choudhary served as Chief General Manager (CGM) at Power Finance Corporation (PFC), where he oversaw loan appraisals for power and infrastructure projects. He has also worked with NTPC and the Food Corporation of India (FCI). He is a finance professional with over 29 years of experience in finance, accounting, loan appraisal, lending policy, treasury management, fundraising, and financial management across Central Public Sector Enterprises. Dr. Choudhary holds B.Com (Honours), M.Com, and a PhD in Finance from Ranchi University and is a qualified Cost Accountant from the Institute of Cost Accountants of India.
