JP Morgan Appoints Doug Petno & Troy Rohrbaugh As Co-Presidents In Succession Plan

JP Morgan has appointed Doug Petno and Troy Rohrbaugh as Co-Presidents with immediate effect as part of its leadership succession plan. The two executives will continue to lead key businesses while taking on broader responsibilities as the bank prepares for an eventual transition from Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Jamie Dimon.

Doug Petno, 61, will become the sole CEO of the investment banking business, while Troy Rohrbaugh, 56, will take over as CEO of the commercial and community banking division. Further, Marianne Lake, Head of the consumer and community banking business, will retire after more than 25 years with the bank and support the leadership transition over the coming weeks.

Doug Petno is a member of the firm’s Operating Committee. He has been with JPMorgan for 35 years and has held leadership positions across commercial and investment banking. He previously served as Co-CEO of the Commercial & Investment Bank, Co-Head of Global Banking, and Chief Executive Officer of Commercial Banking from 2012 to 2024, where he led the business’s expansion in the US and international markets. Earlier, he spent more than two decades in Global Investment Banking, including leading the Global Natural Resources Group. Petno holds a biology degree from Wabash College and an MBA from the University of Rochester.

Troy Rohrbaugh is a member of the firm’s Operating Committee. He has over 25 years of experience in global financial markets. Before his current role, he served as Co-CEO of the Commercial & Investment Bank and Co-Head of Markets & Securities Services, after leading the Macro Markets business. Rohrbaugh joined JPMorgan in 2005 as Managing Director and Global Head of Foreign Exchange Derivatives following leadership roles at Goldman Sachs and Banque Nationale. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Johns Hopkins University and serves on several educational and charitable Boards.
