Amgen Appoints Thomas Dittrich As CFO After Peter Griffith’s Retirement

Thomas Dittrich has been appointed as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and will take over effective September 1, 2026. He will replace Peter Griffith, who is set to retire.

Dittrich will join Amgen as Executive Vice President (EVP) in July and become CFO in September. Griffith will continue at Amgen through January 2027 to support the transition.

Dittrich previously worked at Amgen in roles including Chief Accounting Officer and Head of Corporate Planning. He most recently served as CFO at Galderma Group and also held CFO roles at Shire and Sulzer. He will report to Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Robert Bradway. He holds a master’s degree in finance, controlling & accounting, and a master’s degree in mechanical engineering & robotics.

Griffith is EVP and CFO of Amgen. He joined in October 2019 and became CFO in January 2020. He oversees financial planning and analysis, corporate audit, investor relations, tax, accounting, treasury, and digital technology and innovation. He is Executive Sponsor of ABLE, Amgen’s employee resource group for colleagues with disabilities. Before Amgen, he was President of Sherwood Canyon Group, a private equity firm. Earlier, he spent over 20 years at EY in senior leadership roles, including global Managing Partner for operations and finance and global Vice Chair for corporate development. He holds a business administration degree from the University of Southern California.
