
Sitaram Kandi Set to Succeed Anjali Byce As CHRO Of Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles
Sitaram Kandi has been appointed as Chief Human Resources Officer and Senior Management Personnel (CHRO & SMP) of Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Limited (formerly Tata Motors Limited), w.e.f. July 1, 2026. He will succeed Anjali Byce, who has resigned and will step down to pursue her career opportunities outside the organisation, with effect from June 30, 2026.
Meanwhile, Al-Noor Ramji has been reappointed as a Non-Executive Independent Director of the company for a second consecutive term, effective May 1, 2027, subject to approval of the shareholders.
Kandi is an HR professional with more than 30 years of experience across multinational companies, including General Electric, Monsanto, TE Connectivity, and Bosch. He joined Tata Motors in 2019 and previously led human resources, industrial relations, passenger vehicle, electric vehicle, and skill development functions within the company. He currently serves as CHRO at Tata Motors. Kandi graduated in Mathematics, Economics, and Statistics from Osmania University. He holds a master’s degree in Labour Laws and Labour Welfare from the Symbiosis Institute of Management Studies and has also studied Business Analytics at the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta.
Byce previously served as Group CHRO at Sterlite Technologies from 2019 to 2025 and earlier worked as Director HR at SKF India. Her previous roles also include leadership positions at Thermax and Cummins India, where she handled HR, industrial relations, workplace safety, and organisational initiatives. Byce holds a master’s degree in Applied Psychology from the University of Delhi and a postgraduate diploma in Human Resource Management from the Symbiosis Centre for Management and Human Resource Development.
Ramji is currently Chairman of Digital Growth Advisors. He has also founded and co-founded technology startups and has experience with IPOs and Corporate Governance matters. His most recent executive role was Group Chief Digital Officer at Prudential plc. Earlier, he held senior leadership positions at Misys, Calypso Technology, BT Group, Qwest Communications, UBS, and Credit Suisse First Boston. He is a technology executive, board advisor, investor, and entrepreneur with more than 30 years of experience in digital strategy and business transformation. Ramji holds a BSc in Electronics from the University of London and is a Chartered Financial Analyst.
