Porsche Board Member Sajjad Khan To Step Down From Executive Board Amid Restructuring
German carmaker Porsche will reduce the size of its Executive Board from eight members to seven as part of an organisational restructuring under Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Michael Leiters. Sajjad Khan, who was responsible for software and infotainment operations as Board Member for Car IT, will step down from the Executive Board effective July 1, 2026, and will not be replaced.
The move comes as Porsche and parent company Volkswagen continue efforts to reduce costs amid pressure on profitability. Porsche has been dealing with lower sales in China, tariff-related expenses, and challenges linked to its electric vehicle transition. Porsche also stated that Khan would continue to remain associated with the company in a future capacity.
Khan served as a Member of the Management Board at Mercedes-Benz AG between 2018 and 2021, after working as Vice President (VP) of Digital Vehicle & Mobility at the company from 2015 to 2018. Earlier, he was VP of Connected Drive at BMW Group and Managing Director (MD) at Magna International. He also worked in technical development and purchasing at Daimler. He has held leadership roles across several global automotive companies with a focus on digital mobility, software integration, and connected vehicle technologies. Khan holds a master’s degree in Information and Communication Technology from IU International University in Germany and a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Electronics Engineering from NED University of Engineering and Technology.
