Nilesh Shivji Vikamsey & Ravindra Babu Garikipati Join IndusInd Bank As Independent Directors
IndusInd Bank has appointed Nilesh Shivji Vikamsey and Ravindra Babu Garikipati as Non-Executive Independent Directors, subject to approval of the shareholders.
Further, Ganesh Sankaran, Head of Wholesale Banking, and Jagdeep Mallareddy, Head of Consumer Banking, have been appointed as Whole-Time Directors, subject to approval from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). Both have been designated as Executive Director-designate.
Vikamsey is a Senior Partner at KKC & Associates LLP and a former President of ICAI. He currently serves as Chairman of Nippon Life India Trustee Ltd. and has previously chaired Federal Bank. He has also been a member of the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI) and serves on multiple company Boards. Vikamsey is a chartered accountant with over 40 years of experience in audit and consulting. He holds a commerce degree from the University of Mumbai and has been a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India since 1985. He has completed courses in information systems audit, forensic audit, fraud detection, and artificial intelligence.
Garikipati is a technology executive, entrepreneur, and Board Director with over 35 years of experience across India and Silicon Valley. He serves as a Board Member at Axis Asset Management Company, NIIT Ltd., NIIT Managed Training Services, and RPS Consulting. He is also a strategic advisor to ICICI Lombard and a founding advisor at Opptra. His past roles include CTO at Flipkart, President and CTO at 247.ai, and VP of engineering at Andale. He also founded Davinta, a fintech venture.
Sankaran is a banker with around 30 years of experience across wholesale banking, retail credit, and SME segments. Before his current role, he served as group executive and head of wholesale banking coverage at Axis Bank and was on the board of Axis Capital. He also worked at HDFC Bank and later as an executive director at Federal Bank. He has held leadership roles at private sector banks, focusing on business development, credit, risk, and client management. He studied at Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute (VJTI) and Symbiosis Institute of Management Studies.
