Lt. General Vishwambhar Singh Retires As BEL Independent Director

Lt. General Vishwambhar Singh (Retd.) has retired as an Independent Director of Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) upon completion of his tenure, effective April 23, 2026.

Lt. General Vishwambhar Singh (Retd.) is an Indian Army officer with 37 years of service. He held several senior roles during his career. He served as General Officer Commanding for Maharashtra, Gujarat, and Goa Area from May 2017 to June 2018. Earlier, he was Director General Weapons and Equipment, and General Officer Commanding, Uttar Bharat Area. He also served as Chief Engineer, Western Command, and Deputy Director General Military Operations. He holds a Bachelor of Architecture from the Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee and master’s degrees in philosophy and defence studies from institutions in Indore, Delhi, and the University of Madras.
