Richard Harding Appointed As Interim Head Of Customers & Products Unit At BP

BP has appointed Richard Harding as interim Head of its Customers and Products Business, effective April 13, 2026, replacing Emma Delaney. The change follows an announcement by OMV (an integrated energy company headquartered in Vienna) that Delaney will take over as its Chief Executive Officer (CEO) in September 2026.

Harding has held multiple roles across BP over a career spanning more than two decades. Most recently, he served as an Independent Consultant and Advisor from January 2024 to April 2026, based in London. Before this, he was Senior Vice President (SVP) for portfolio and integration from July 2021 to January 2024. He also led sales and marketing for North America between December 2018 and June 2021, based in Chicago. Earlier, he worked as VP for commercial development from March 2016 to December 2018 in the United Kingdom, focusing on new business development and market entry within BP’s downstream operations. His earlier roles include Retail Manager at BP Poland, Operations Director at a BP and Safeway partnership, Regional Manager at BP Amoco, and Retail Business Analyst at BP Southern Africa.
