Bhaskar Bhattacharya Steps Down As Independent Director Of Power Finance Corporation

Bhaskar Bhattacharya has resigned from the position of Independent Director on the Board of Power Finance Corporation Limited (PFC) as he has been selected as a candidate for the forthcoming Assembly Election in West Bengal from Serampore Constituency, effective April 1, 2026.

Bhattacharya has served as Chairman of the Hooghly Tax Advocates Bar Association and is a member of the West Bengal Taxation Tribunal. He has also worked as General Secretary of the NGO Nibedan. He was an Independent Director on the board of Power Finance Corporation Limited for three years. During his tenure, he was part of the Audit Committee and Nomination and Remuneration Committee, and chaired the Board-level Risk Management Committee. He has over 30 years of experience as an advocate, working on taxation and legal matters. Bhattacharya is a commerce graduate with a law degree and a postgraduate diploma in business management.
