Kevin M. Warsh Nominated As U.S. Federal Reserve Chair By President Trump

U.S. President Donald Trump has nominated Kevin M. Warsh to lead the Federal Reserve, the country’s central bank, whose current Chair, Jerome Powell, is set to complete his term in May.

Warsh served as a member of the Board of Governors of the US Federal Reserve System from February 2006 to March 2011. He began his career at Morgan Stanley, working in mergers and acquisitions and capital markets. In 2002, he joined the George W. Bush administration as special assistant to the president for economic policy and executive secretary of the National Economic Council. At the Fed, he represented the US at the G-20 and managed board operations. He is a visiting fellow at Stanford’s Hoover Institution and a board member of UPS. Warsh earned a bachelor’s degree from Stanford University in 1992 and a law degree from Harvard Law School in 1995, with additional coursework at Harvard Business School and MIT Sloan.
