Automobile Corporation of Goa Appoints Dr. Renu Sharma and Rekha Bagry Nair as Independent Directors

Automobile Corporation of Goa Limited has announced the appointment of Dr. Renu Sharma and Rekha Bagry Nair as Additional Directors and Independent Directors on its Board, subject to shareholder approval.

The Board has approved their appointment for a tenure of five years, effective from January 20, 2026 to January 19, 2031 (both days inclusive).

Dr. Renu Sharma is a distinguished retired Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer with 36 years of experience in public administration, governance, and finance. Her career includes senior leadership roles across the NCT of Delhi, Mizoram, Goa, and the Union Territory of Daman & Diu, with portfolios spanning Finance, Taxation, Home, Transport, and Urban Development. She has also served as Secretary to the Chief Minister of Delhi.

At the national level, Dr. Sharma was on deputation to the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, where she served as Director and Joint Secretary. Internationally, she served as Deputy Chief of Mission at the Embassy of India in Brussels (2012–2015), covering Belgium, Luxembourg, and the European Union. She was empanelled as Secretary to the Government of India in 2021.

Dr. Sharma concluded her service as Chief Secretary of Mizoram (2021–2024) and is credited with initiatives such as helicopter connectivity across Mizoram, facilitation of the state’s first railway line, and leadership in major urban initiatives in Delhi, including metro expansion, electric vehicle policy implementation, pollution control measures, and citizen engagement programmes like Bhagidari. She holds a Ph.D. from Sciences Po, Paris, along with postgraduate degrees from Jawaharlal Nehru University and École Nationale D’administration, Paris.

Rekha Bagry Nair is an independent professional with over 20 years of experience in taxation and advisory. She began her entrepreneurial journey in 2019 after a 15-year tenure at Price Waterhouse Coopers, where she became a Partner in 2010. Prior to PwC, she worked with RSM & Co. She specialises in tax and regulatory aspects of mergers and acquisitions, family succession planning, and trust structuring, and has advised Indian corporates and multinational companies across sectors including manufacturing, telecom, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, media, and retail.
