Hitesh Ramesh Chandra Joshi Reappointed As CMD Of General Insurance Corporation Of India

Hitesh Ramesh Chandra Joshi has been reappointed as Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) of General Insurance Corporation of India, effective January 1, 2026. The reappointment was approved on January 7, 2026.

Over his career, Joshi has handled assignments across key functions, including reinsurance, retrocession, finance, internal audit, budgetary control, credit rating, investor relations, and served as Executive Assistant to the CMD. In his current role as Executive Director, he oversees international business operations, human resources (HR), information technology (IT), office services, business intelligence, and actuarial functions. His experience spans domestic and international inward reinsurance, strategic financial management, and operational oversight, positioning him to manage complex business functions within the corporation effectively. Joshi is a postgraduate in accountancy from Mumbai University and holds a master’s degree in financial management from the Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies, Mumbai. He is also a Fellow of the Insurance Institute of India.
