Sunil Mehta Resigns As IndusInd Bank Chairman Amid Leadership Overhaul

Sunil Mehta, Chairman of IndusInd Bank, will step down effective January 2026 upon completion of his tenure and will not seek reappointment, Reuters reported.

Mehta has been an Independent Director at SBI, Non-Executive Chairman at PNB, and YES Bank. He is currently Chairman and Managing Director of SPM Capital Advisers Private Limited and serves on Boards, including Sashakt India Asset Management, Welmo Fintech, and Asia Society India Centre. With forty years of experience, he has held leadership roles across banking, financial services, insurance, and investments at institutions including Citibank, AIG, SBI, PNB, and YES Bank. He has overseen AIG’s operations in India and served on the Boards of Tata AIG General Insurance and Tata AIA Life Insurance. Mehta is a graduate of Shri Ram College of Commerce, Delhi University, and a Fellow Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. He is also an alumnus of the Wharton School of Management, University of Pennsylvania.
