Board Stewardship to Host the Global Corporate Governance Summit 2025 at BSE: Spotlight on India’s New Data Protection Mandate

Board Stewardship is gearing up to host one of India’s most impactful governance gatherings with the Global Corporate Governance Summit 2025, presented in partnership with the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) as the Venue Partner. Scheduled for 2nd and 3rd December 2025 at the iconic BSE in Mumbai, the international conference will convene leading voices in corporate governance, sustainability, technology and regulatory leadership under a forward-looking agenda designed to elevate boardroom readiness for an era of disruption.

This year’s Summit places a strong emphasis on the changing governance landscape shaped by rapid technological advancement, regulatory tightening and rising stakeholder expectations. At the forefront of this shift is India’s landmark Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act, which forms the central theme of the Summit’s high-stakes Plenary Session. The session will bring together four distinguished experts who have been closely engaged with the evolution of cybersecurity, data privacy, compliance and board governance.

Ritesh Bhatia, Founder Director- Cyber Crime Investigations, Cyber Security & Data Privacy, will unpack the risk, compliance and organisational imperatives emerging from the new Act. Uday Bhansali, Independent Director on multiple Boards, Former President – Financial Advisory, Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu India, will outline how Boards must rethink oversight, accountability and technology governance in a post-DPDP landscape. Ketan Dalal, Managing Director of Katalyst Advisors Pvt. Ltd., will connect the regulatory shift with enterprise risk, business continuity and board responsibility, while Anand Desai, Managing Partner at DSK Legal, will bring a legal and structural perspective on consent frameworks, Board liability and implementation readiness.

Together, their insights will set the tone for the Summit, emphasising how data protection is no longer a compliance obligation but a core governance mandate shaping trust, transparency and shareholder confidence.

Beyond DPDP, the two-day Summit will explore how Boards are adapting to emerging challenges—from AI disruption and cybersecurity to ESG, fraud, economic volatility, profitability pressures and succession planning. With world-class speakers, independent directors, senior executives, regulators and global governance practitioners, the conference will offer a rich mix of keynote sessions, thought leadership dialogues and thematic panels that reflect both global best practice and India’s unique corporate landscape.

More than 300+ board leaders, KMPs, regulators and governance professionals are expected to participate, providing unmatched opportunities for high-level networking, strategic insights and practical guidance. Attendees will leave with a sharper understanding of the evolving governance agenda and a stronger roadmap for building resilient, responsible and forward-looking Boards.
