Anand Viswanathan To Replace Amit Talgeri As Chief Risk Officer Of Axis Bank
Anand Viswanathan has been appointed as the Chief Risk Officer of Axis Bank Limited with effect from January 1, 2026. He will replace Amit Talgeri, who will cease to be the Chief Risk Officer upon completion of his term, with effect from December 31, 2025, and will be relieved from the services on January 18, 2026.
Viswanathan is the Head of Market & Liquidity Risk, ERM, and Model Risk at Axis Bank, bringing over two decades of experience in risk management, financial markets, and structuring. He has held leadership roles at Axis Bank as well as other foreign and Indian banks. He is also a rank-holding Chartered Accountant and Company Secretary, and holds the FRM certification from the Global Association of Risk Professionals. His expertise spans market operations, analytics, and comprehensive risk management, including risk strategy, model risk, capital planning, operational and ESG risks, and fostering risk culture across organisations.
Talgeri is a seasoned banking and finance professional with over 27 years of experience across retail credit, operations, collections, and business functions, both in India and internationally. Previously, he served as CEO of Dubai First, a subsidiary of First Abu Dhabi Bank Limited, and has held leadership roles at First Abu Dhabi Bank, Indiabulls Financial Services, HDFC Bank, Bank of America, and HDFC Ltd. Talgeri holds a graduate degree in mathematics & physics from Mumbai University and a postgraduate degree in management, reflecting a strong analytical and strategic foundation.
