Martin Sion To Succeed Henri Poupart-Lafarge As CEO Of Alstom

Alstom’s Board of Directors has appointed Martin Sion as Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective April 1, 2026.

Sion will succeed Henri Poupart-Lafarge, who decided not to seek another term after serving as CEO since February 2016.

Sion served as CEO of Aircelle (now Safran Nacelles) in 2013 and became Chairman of Safran Electronics & Defence in 2015. He later led key divisions at Snecma (now Safran Aircraft Engines), including the Space Engines Division and the Industrial Excellence Centre. He began his career at Société Européenne de Propulsion (SEP) in 1990, holding several engineering roles. Since 2020, he has been a member of ArianeGroup’s Board of Directors and was appointed its CEO in 2023. He is a graduate of École Centrale de Paris.
