CRISIL Upgrades Maruti Suzuki’s ESG Rating To 63 For FY25
Maruti Suzuki India Limited said that CRISIL ESG Ratings & Analytics, a SEBI-registered ESG rating provider, has upgraded the company’s overall ESG rating from 61 in FY 2023-24 to 63 in FY 2024-25, keeping it in the “Strong” category. The core ESG rating has remained at 57.
The ESG rating reflects the strength of a company’s sustainability practices—the higher the number, the stronger its ESG performance.
CRISIL noted that the upgrade reflects improvements in environmental disclosures, stronger social initiatives, enhanced governance practices, and a greater focus on sustainable product lines. The CRISIL ESG scale classifies companies from Weak to Leadership, with Maruti Suzuki continuing in the Strong band. The company said the recognition supports its long-term strategy on sustainability, risk management, and stakeholder value creation, and may aid in attracting sustainable financing and investor confidence.
