JK Cement’s Independent Director, Saurabh Chandra, Passed Away

Saurabh Chandra, Independent Director of JK Cement Limited, passed away on September 16, 2025.

Chandra retired as Secretary, Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Government of India, and previously served as Secretary, Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DIPP), Ministry of Commerce and Industry. He served as Public Interest Director and Chairman of the Governing Board of Multi Commodity Exchange of India Ltd., and as an Independent Director on the Boards of SBI Pension Funds Pvt. Ltd., Usha Breco Ltd., and Vacmet India Ltd. He had extensive experience in policy formulation and implementation across sectors including oil and gas, manufacturing, foreign direct investment, intellectual property, and disinvestment. His tenure saw reforms in FDI and intellectual property policies, the National Manufacturing Policy, deregulation of diesel prices, PAHAL Scheme, Give Up campaign, and initiatives in hydrocarbon exploration and the National Gas Grid.
